EASTER SUNDAY

FIRST TIME TO OUR BLOG - Check out our archives!

We had a wonderful Easter!! We got dressed in our Easter clothes (which the girls loved putting on those dresses). We headed to church... after church we all had lunch together (with our church) and then had a huge Easter Egg hunt. It was a fun time. The kids had a blast and we now have TOO much candy.

Ted taught at church today. He did a great job (I am a proud wife!). They now post their messages on the web site (www.fbcknoxville.com) under resources.

Spring Time Afternoon

My favorite thing about the Spring is being outside. We all like to hang out in our front/back yard and drive way on Spring afternoons. The Randall family (Bruce, Christy, Tori, Audrey, Bruce and Molly) live a neighborhood over from us. Bruce cut a piece of their fence out so that they could walk over to our house. So they will come over on some afternoons and just hang out. Last night, the Clelands joined us and the Randalls. We just let the kids play outside and we all had popsicles. It was a great night. All the kids climbed into the back of John's truck... I had to take a picture. FUN NIGHT!

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

Click on pictures to see them better.

I don't know what type of tree this is but it is in our front yard. It is my absolutely FAVORITE thing about Spring!! I love Spring. I get so excited when I see the blooms coming on this tree! If you know what kind of tree it is, let me know :-) (I have heard cherry blossom - I call it the pink carnation tree. Ted calls it the cotton candy tree). It is right outside of Avery and Addison's room. The funny thing about that is we moved into this house in December so we had no idea that tree bloomed like that. Then in February, Melissa Clayton painted a mural on Avery and Addie's wall (this was during the time I was in the hospital having Addie. Melissa came to help with the kids and she blessed us with Murals too!). She painted these trees in the girls' rooms and on the trees she put pink flowers. We had no idea the tree outside their window bloomed these incredible pink flowers. TOO COOL!

Sleeping Boy

Aidan has been playing so hard lately... he fell asleep the other night on the floor ... WHICH IS RARE for him. If you let him stay awake, he will! I just thought this was so sweet... so I took a picture.

I wanted to share a few pictures with you from the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk that took place this past Saturday. It was an incredible day for me. I expected to feel such sad emotion as I was there but I had such JOY. Seeing my friends there with my mom's name on their back (we wore papers on our back that said "I am walking in honor of MARY KAY GUIDRY". It was overwhelming to me to see all of my friends there supporting me and them not even knowing her. It was such a special day...

We did NOT even get to walk... it was rained out. We had some HORRIBLE storms in TN this past week and the trail was flooded. They had all of the ceremonies in the gym of a church and it was really neat. They had a live band, all the food you could imagine (so instead of walking, we ate!), they had raffle drawings, they had LOTS of crafts for the kids... it was a lot of fun. There were so many people there (even though it was raining). I saw so many different people with names of people affected by this disease on their backs and wondered what their stories were. It was just a special day.... I found myself so very thankful and could imagine the smile on my mom's face. Ted made me the sweetest t-shirt that had her picture on it and said "Memories fade... but we will never forget. Mary Kay Guidry 11-5-2002
We did walk around the gym (which moved at a very slow pace with all the people) It was a neat sight to see... even though we couldn't be outside.
Do you know as soon as we left, the sun came out - SO VERY BRIGHT and it was a gorgeous day. I wasn't disappointed though about not walking. It was just as it was suppose to be and that was fine with me.

I met a girl that works at the Alzheimer's Association at the end of the day and after sharing my story with her, she asked me to consider being on the board. They meet once a month and plan activities to help the cause... we'll see. I got her number and name and plan on praying about it.

I AM SO SAD THAT MANDISA GOT VOTED OFF OF AMERICAN IDOL!

Seriously every week I looked forward to her performance. I wanted to cry last night when she was the last one standing. If I think about it now I get sad. I wish I could e-mail her or something... haha. I know she'll do great with whatever she does. She truly is a gifted singer.

Not sure who I am rooting for these days...

I'd like to see Bucky, Ace or Paris get the boot next week!

Traffic Jam

There was a traffic jam in our driveway yesterday... Aidan and Annie Beth were holding up traffic (traffic being Maddie Grace and Addison). The Mazons were over on Wednesday morning while their mommy went to a meeting. We had a blast! The weather here has been picture perfect. High 60's... very enjoyable!

Avery, Aidan and Addie just hanging out in Addie's crib. They are so sweet. It has been a good morning of getting along. THANK YOU LORD! Just wanted to share this precious picture. This was taken during the kid's room time this morning.
